Let me tell you, what a stumble worthy site, I just stumbled upon today. It’s amazing that I came across a site about web hosting, after my harrowing ordeal yesterday (my entry on this below) when my sites went down for four hours. As it is, the articles are very enlightening and it really got me into thinking about what my next move will be regarding my current web host. If you can not rely on your web host to have you online 24/7, 365 days a year, it just doesn’t make sense.
Cheap web hosting is not always a mediocre choice, as there are reliable web host out there that are also affordable. You just have to do your homework before taking the plunge. In as much as reliability is important, getting testimonials from actual customers would be a good idea. On top of that, a round the clock customer support and the capability of your choice of webhost to grow with you should also be considered.
Whatever you decide on, you should check out web hosting ratings as well as tutorials and articles about web hosting before you pick your web host, so you can make an informed decision. Because once you’re tied up just like me(two years), you really can’t do much but wait, unless you are willing to pull out and spend more to have peace of mind and security.

So, I started my day pretty early today, because I wanted to get done with my laundry early. I’ve planned to do this because I really wanted to get even with the opps waiting to be written, as they are piling up on me and I don’t want them to expire.
To my dismay, I was not able to carry out this plan as my dear webhost, Blue Host had my blogs “off the air” from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This was the first time that this long downtime happened. I called their customer support and I was told it will be back in ten minutes. I called again after an hour, this time, I was informed they can’t tell me the precise time when the server will be up as they are busy working on it.
I’m tied up with them for two years. If this is the beginning of something not appealing at all, I will have to look for a host elsewhere. It’s actually been happening a lot lately, but the downtime are not that significant enough for me to get annoyed . We’ll see.

Are you aware of AdWords? If you are a blogger like me, you must have heard about it. For my readers that are not familiar with it, it’s actually a program wherein if you search on Google, you’ll see the context sensitive advertisements just above and on to the right of the search results. Here, you’ll see ads from big companies to an individual that wants to be seen/viewed through that valuable ad space.
That said, I was browsing through an online portal called StylishDesign.com. It details key aspects about AdWords optimization. I am not into AdWords myself, and upon reading up on it, I was enlightened all the more on how AdWords works. I should really look into it, as it is another revenue for earnings, more so that I already have my blogs. I can be an affiliate advertiser, and as I learned through this site; as an affiliate advertiser, I can add banner ads on my blogs. Two of my blogs have a decent page rank, which means I have a higher visibility on the search engines like Google and Yahoo which make them more valuable. This is something that I should highly consider. More earning possibility means a fatter bank account, of course, accompanied with a little work on getting my blogs AdWords optimized sites.

Go Ahead - Judge a Podcast by its Cover
Yodio Gives Online Users the Ability to Visually Personalize Podcasts
SEATTLE, May 5, 2008 – Yodio introduces podcasters the unique ability to
visually wrap podcasts. Much like an album cover, users can create cover
photos, producing a complete and total podcasting experience, resulting in
podcasts with the ultimate finishing touch. Using any image, photo or
piece of art, users can upload an MP3 recording and attach a full size (up
to a 10 MB) digital photo.
A survey by Storm/Universal McCann reports that 32 percent of respondents
increased their podcast use in the past six months.” Invisible podcasts
are ignored podcasts. Yodio allows online users to elevate podcasts to a
visually rich, personalized online medium. This new visual element
heightens the purpose of any blog or online community-to clearly convey
information to fellow online users.
This free service exclusively from Yodio allows users to embed a Yodio
player into any blog – but unlike other current methods, Yodio offers a
complete and visual package to fully encase the audio podcast. For
podcasters who want to go beyond the cover photo, Yodio can be used to
create illustrated podcasts using multiple JPEG photos or graphics to
attach a graphic to individual audio sections.
“Every picture needs a story; a photo plus audio creates a compelling
story,” comments former Corbis CEO and current ZoomAlbum CEO Doug Rowan.
“Photographs by themselves don’t really tell the stories. You need people
to tell the stories. Yodio is delivering on this need.”
To embed a Yodio player or learn more about Yodio, visit www.yodio.com.

- It’s been a lot of fun moderating all your comments, but I will highly appreciate it if you refrain from leaving irrelevant comments. I want us to have some FUN, and have meaningful discussions on each of the entries and not just write these comments so there’s something to be counted. Please know, that I sincerely appreciate your effort and your participation means a lot to me.
- The list above includes bloggers that have in one way or another expressed their intention to join the contest.
- Please take note also that comments written after (March 16) the transfer of the old blogspot “MY WORLD” blog on my own domain name will NO LONGER count. That blog is as good as closed but I’m keeping it for now because of some technicalities. Every single comment made prior to transfer are counted.

I have joined the biggest party in town:
It’s The Hochstadt.com Party Contest!
Won’t you wanna join me? In fact, I have donated 3,000 Entre Credits representing my three blogs: my lair, my world and my library. And, if I may borrow some texts from Marcus’s site:
Yesterday shall have been the day for my blog to break Alexa’s Top 50,000 rank, if… yeah, if Alexa wouldn’t have changed its ranking algorithm! LOL
While I was eagerly checking and waiting for my blog to break Alexa’s 50,000 mark (so I can celebrate this with you,) I found out Alexa just changed its Ranking algorithm (04/16/2008)…
http://www.alexa.com/site/company/announcement
My blog’s Alexa Rank now dropped from 51,059 down to 174,666!
That means, NO ranking report, NO “showing off” of Alexa’s formerly sky-rocking hochstadt.com ranking graph, NO big numbers—nada of these—and therefore NO “Alexa Top 50,000 In 107 Days” title – BUT…
We will simply change the tag and party anyway!
(Business Lesson: Never ever be dependent on any 3rd party resource!)
You probably remember the astonishing party I held when my blog broke Alexa’s old 100,000 mark?
I invited a select few Top Entrecarders and Internet Entrepreneurs to join our one-of-a-kind Hochstadt.com Party Contest and celebrate together that it is indeed possible to catapult from no man’s land to popularity in 107 days!
Without further ado, let’s get to the “Party Contest Meat”—or in other words, what YOU can WIN at this Hochstadt.com Party Contest!
NOTE: This is none of those Internet Marketing niche contests… The Hochstadt.com Party Contest features prizes from a broad range of industries and categories. Meaning, there is something for EVERYONE…
So, are you interested? Check it out by following this link.
