So, we all survived the start of the Holiday season. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Yours truly and my husband had a great one, and we celebrated just the way we want it. It was quiet and devoid of letting out a smile when in reality, I really didn’t want to, no traffic to deal with and none of that usual dressing up so you’re in with the crowd kind of thing.
I guess, you get my drift.
I didn’t want to slave myself in the kitchen so we did the next best thing – dine out. Knowing how most restaurants were closed, we went straight to a diner not far from where we live. I was expecting the place to be somewhat empty, but I was totally wrong. Hey! we weren’t the only people in the world who opted to do what we did.
The ‘star’ at the diner was a spread of turkey right by the entrance. I snapped a photo, it was a sight to behold (something I never saw from years of going to traditional Thanksgiving dinners at some place)!
Husband and I however, didn’t go for turkey dinner. Our choice of food can be bordering on the weird side sometimes. Find out why I’m saying so… here.
The day after Thanksgiving was a day devoted to Sexie. We were at the BMW service center. I brought along my iPad to while away the time. It was a frigid day so even inside the lounge I didn’t bother to take off my down coat.
Complimentary lunch was available. A wide array of salads, sandwiches, fresh fruits, cakes and pastries and different beverages was available and eat all you can was the name of the game.
Knowing where our next destination was after the day with Sexie, I made sure that we started our day right with my concoction of green juice.
We headed to our friends somewhere on Long Island and had dinner at their home ( an invite we couldn’t refuse). I knew that we were going to get served with sumptuous, rich dishes. Sure enough, there was no stopping my voracious husband. We were finally home by 10:00 p.m.
Another dose of green juice was in order the following morning. If you only know what we ingested the night before, then you’ll understand why.
We’re back on track with our usual food here at home, dutifully planned and prepared by the wanna-be chef. Till next pig out!
