Cleaning Out My Closet

Each summer I try and clean out my closet to make room for fall shopping. I find that somehow this works so much better than doing it during spring cleaning like most people tend to do. Also, summer is just a great time to buy a lot of cheap clothes and a lot of tank tops, which don’t really hold up for very long considering how I use them to layer under cardigans, sleep in them and even do some house cleaning in them.

When I spill something on one that’s still in good shape and the stain just won’t come out no matter what I do, I keep it around to use as a cleaning rag. But anyway, I always try to donate the stuff that I clean out of my closet to Goodwill or the local homeless shelter so I can get tax write-offs for them. My husband is kind enough to do that for me and I’ll set aside stuff for him to do that in trash bags.

But this time I took out some stuff to put in our guest bedroom’s closet because we’re running out of room in ours. I threw some of these in a shopping bag and when my husband asked if I was going to donate that stuff I said yes because I misheard him. Then he pulled out my favorite dress and asked me about it. I realized my mistake and we avoided that disaster but that got me thinking about and researching Hearing Aids by Miracle Ear, which I ended up buying.

I joke about not listening to my husband a lot, but when it comes to something like getting rid of my favorite clothes, I want to listen.
