Vita-Mix In My Kitchen

I’m now a proud owner of the much coveted Vita-mix machine. After that foul-up with the delivery via UPS  as  recounted on my preceding post,  I can now put that behind me and I’m now enjoying the kind of performance that only Vita-mix can deliver. Indeed, healthy eating is easy and —delicious! I can now attest to that because I have already tried some of the recipes that are in the recipe books.

I already  made whole food juices (remember, I returned my Jack Lallane juicer), yummy shakes and smoothies and  steaming hot soup from scratch which are good complement to the gourmet  food delivery that we have in place.  I have yet to  make my first homemade ice cream and peanut butter though.  Instead of buying the ice cream attachment of my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, I can now whip up fresh ice cream in just one machine.

As I read through the manual of the blender, and watched the DVD that came with it,  I was amazed at the versatility of the machine. I now believe that it is capable of performing over  50 different culinary jobs with ease in minutes without any attachments.

What made me go for Vita-mix, considering the very hefty price ($704.00 inclusive of NY tax @ 8.375%)?
1. My almost ten year old blender (Cuisinart) that was barely used for so many years but was recently put to use twice a day for the last one and a half month now looks like this:

Can you see the irregularity on the blade? After multiple use for the past month, the angle of the blade changed.

2. I wanted to experience and be a part of the whole food revolution.
3. I  wanted to stop wasting the fiber in my fruits when I  make fresh juice.
4. I wanted a machine that can perform many tasks.

I bought the Vita-mix De Luxe 5200.

The Vita-mix Super 5200  machine with 64 oz. wet blade container, 32 oz. wet blade container and 32 oz. dry blade container, the patented Vita-mix tamper, 3 extra-long spatulas, 4 flexible cutting boards

it really is. I wish I believed about its versatility a lot sooner. I would not have bought a stand mixer, coffee grinder and food processor. For many years, I convinced myself it was just a powerful blender that is capable of making smoothies and shakes.

  • Yay! A new kitchen toy! I am jealous–that machine looks awesome!

go for one too. it really is a workhorse.

  • Amazing how one little gadget can do all that work noh? I’m still stuck with our blender and an almost 8-yr old food processor which we got when E was just starting to eat solid foods. Maybe one day I’ll have the moolah to buy a vita-mix…hahaha….

Naku Tuks, the weather here this weekend is kabaligtaran ng weather dyan. Sun-shiny days with temps in the lower 70s…nang inggit pa ko noh? Hahaha….hindi pinalampas ni M ang weather kahapon so he came home after lunch and off we went….

He’s back at work today but he’s thinking of taking off early para naman mag mow ng weeds [walang grass kasi puro brown].

Hopefully wala na yung storm nyo dyan para naman ma enjoy nyo ang weekend kahit ilang oras lang.

you should get one, it is really one amazing machine. as I said, I wished I believed of its multi-functionality years ago. it would have saved me from buying all those machines.

the storm finally left. the wind gust went up to 70 mph yesterday. we still had rain this morning but it’s all gone now. kakainggit nga ang weather ninyo dyan. si M talaga, sobrang workaholic. after real work, work pa din sa house?

  • Ay ang ganda! Bongga din kasi sa ganda ang presyo e! Ako dito hanggang Osterizer lang! Good only for liquids. Super tagal na ng serbisyo sa kin, 20 yrs na pero okay pa rin.
Sana ma-afford ko din yan. Wish ko lng!

  • Wow ha! You finally got it sis! Galing naman and I’m so green with envy! Hahahaha….

This has been listed in my wants for two years now, and yet, I haven’t gotten it pa rin until now. I wish soon. But I doubt. I think my powerful blender does the thing pa that I usually do with my fruits and so I’ll let it do its work nalang muna. But I’d really love to have one, too. Pero di muna, wala pang budget. :D Hanggang tingin nalang muna si ako. Hahaha.

bongga sa presyo but this machine really does wonders. like I keep saying, I wish I believed of its versatility and power many years ago. hinayang ako kasi nakatipid sana ako sa pagbili ng ibang machines. with its 7 year warranty, may peace of mind ako, even if I had to fork out that much to acquire it. you should get one, you won’t regret it.

    @ Recel
don’t be hahaha. buy ka na rin. yung blender ko nawindang ang blade in just more than a month of twice a day usage.

I’ve known about it 10 years ago but I didn’t believe sa mga claims nila. regret ko lang kasi napabili pa ako ng mga ibang machines na pwede naman sana dito sa isa lang. but at least I have it now kaya happy na rin ako. it was that hard to clean juicer (that I returned) that really helped in my decision to finally get one.

  • congratulations on your new blender! wow! I would love to get one too. LOL! inggitera? take care!

    @ ally
