This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of AccuWeather. All opinions are 100% mine.
Born and raised in a tropical country, I really didn’t pay attention much to the weather forecast. My mind has always been programmed to deal with occasional rain on some days, and inclement weather during the rainy season. For the past eleven years though, no matter how crazy it may seem to most of you, I admit that the weather ‘rules’ my life. With the four seasons here in the Big Apple, I find it irresponsible to be unaware of the weather forecast on a day to day basis.
And yes, that admission is coming from a stay-at-home wife who is definitely not and will never be the proverbial soccer mom and whose activity is devoid of the normal 9 to 5 rat race. While my outdoor activities are more limited than most, what’s going on outside as far as the weather is concerned is key to planning my day apart from ensuring that my husband’s attire for work is appropriate (Please don’t cringe; yes, I can be that OC. I pick my husband’s attire every single day).
I won’t want to get caught at the supermarket in the middle of a blizzard or snow storm. That appointment to the Doctor is canceled a day in advance once I learn about an incoming weather disturbance. In fact, I don’t want to be outside at all when AccuWeather says it won’t be nice outside. Call that as one of my perks for a being a stay-at-home wife. I have the liberty to shuffle my schedule the way I want it without explaining to anyone. Hey, I can’t control mother nature but I can control my activities.
The recent face-lift of AccuWeather.com all the more makes it easier for me to plan my day to day activities. I like the fact that once I get to the home page, I have a direct link to my local weather forecast replete with radar and local video as well as the different lifestyle areas. What’s more, the larger displays and new tabbed navigation makes it more user-friendly for a specs-wearing gal like me. Now, it makes it more fun and easier to plan regardless of what mother nature decides to bring here in the city that never sleeps.
