Sclerotherapy

Woodmere on Long Island has been my new playground since two Thursdays ago. No, I don’t go there to have fun, I’m going for the sake of vanity, and I need to go there every two weeks.

Before you run into conclusion, let me say that  it’s not the scalpel and stitching type of procedure that I’m having done. That is way too invasive and I’m not actually considering such, not even in the future no matter how vain I am.

Since shorts and mini skirts are in season very soon, I figured I need to take care of a few spider veins on my legs. I need to be swimsuit ready just in case my husband decides to take me somewhere warm and nice (read: pristine white sand). I have been thinking of  getting the procedure: sclerotherapy for the past two years but I never got to doing it. This procedure is not new to me because I had done it already when I was still in the Philippines.  It is considered as a cosmetic procedure (no medical insurance will pay for it) and I wish I was in the Philippines because it is much cheaper there.

For the sake of vanity, I wear Ace Bandage on my legs for five days after each visit, even in the shower. For the sake of vanity, I’m willing to take several injections although the needle is very fine. For the sake of vanity, I travel 30 miles each way to get it done. Yes, I’m vain indeed!
