Having a Wall Street professional for a husband makes dining at home on weekdays a bit stressful. I’m not saying it happens every weeknight but more often than not it’s the norm.  When a stressed man joins you on the table, you can’t help but talk about the day’s stressful grind and even if I’m not that well versed about the usual trading lingo ( i.e. options picks and alerts and then some),  I have to share my opinion to sort of help him wind down.

Through almost ten years of wedded bliss, I somehow picked up some basic knowledge about buying and selling stocks and stock options. With our financially managed stock accounts, even if my husband takes charge, he is not making single handed decisions. In my own little way, I arm myself by looking into options alerts from the net (via blogs, business sites) and on TV via breaking business news, and I read a lot of books too. It is exciting nonetheless, watching the market’s position throughout the day.

I’m not as daring and adventurous as my husband though. I think it goes with the territory. I’m the conservative kind of investor. However, both of us believe in the power of  stock options, and the key  is to be wise in ones options picks. Holding on to our stock options is what I do best, as I’m making sure that  they are exercised at the perfect time. After all, making profit is our number one objective.

Can you say that we are the perfect partner in crime? Many of our friends think so. We are on equal footing when it comes to handling our investments. It does not matter that I’m a forever trading newbie in his eyes, for as long as I understand how everything works and I’m there to equalize any aggressive move that he may or may not take. One thing’s for sure though: most of the time, I say the last word.
