Ciamballone a.k.a. Ciambellone

It’s time to reveal the identity of the mystery pic that I posted a week ago on this article.

As you can see, it is a bread called Ciambellone  (not sure why Whole Foods spelled it with an “a” instead of “e”) – a  ring-shaped bread that is lightly sweetened and flavored with lemon zest and dried fruit.  It’s been known that Romans like to serve it for breakfast at Easter. Originally, it was first created to celebrate  harvest, but it has  since become a traditional Easter bread. Although, it is called bread, the texture is almost like cake.

Who is the lucky winner? I’m so sorry but nobody guessed it right.

As a token, I’m awarding $5 anyway to the very first commenter on this blog post – Joanne Olivieri. Please leave your Paypal account name by commenting on this post.

Thanks to one and all for participating.  I sincerely appreciate your effort. Thank you Choc mint girl, Theresa, Michele Facini, Lynn, Saph, An, Tina Smith, Karen, Carolyn, Tita Beng, My owl barn, Elda Carlson, Writing nag, Phil and  Carmel who did not leave a link to her blog.

I hope to see you again on my next mystery pic contest.
