A Day At The Spa In Lieu Of Shopping On Black Friday

While most of you spent a fortune shopping last Friday (Black Friday), and were probably dead tired at the end of the day, my husband and I  did the exact opposite. We had a relaxing day at the spa.

I thought of booking our appointment exactly on Black Friday so that will keep me away from committing more ‘shopping sin.’ As I have written on my other blog a few days ago, I have been shopping pretty much the past few days and I have already created a big dent on my husband’s wallet.

I will not trade a day at the spa with shopping no matter how exhilarating it is for me getting what I want.  I had facial with microdermabrasion,  body scrub  while my husband had gentleman’s facial,  body scrub and we also availed of the couple’s massage. Needless to say, we both came out of the spa relaxed and feeling great. I actually wished we get to do it more often.

When we head out the door of the spa, though, it was madness because the spa is situated right  in the middle of the action . Navigating through throngs of shoppers along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan was really tough. And don’t even ask me about  the walk to the nearest train station. It was really crowded! While we passed Saks Fifth I just had no desire to even take a quick peek. Besides, with my husband in tow, I’m sure I would have just gotten that sour look if I insisted on going in.
