Yes, I’m still in the flashback mode. Our biannual vacation is on hold. Even if we are itching to get on a plane to take us to our choice destinations this year, I doubt if it will happen anytime soon.
The next best thing for me now is to just reminisce and look at old photographs of the places we have been to. It is actually time consuming, and whenever I start to browse I get lost in the tons of photos that we have accumulated all through the years. I didn’t realize that I also need to get all the pics organized and sorted properly.
Maine, as I have said before and I’m saying it again, is one place that I will never tire of visiting over and over again. In fact, it is our number 1 choice where we plan to purchase a retirement home. The “beat” of Maine is the exact opposite of New York, the pace of life seem to be at a standstill. The streets are pedestrian friendly, they have more than 60 lighthouses, the people are very welcoming and of course, I love the food.

Want lobster everyday? Head on to Maine.

How can I forget the best ice cream? Beal’s! Only in Maine.

Sounds so great! I’d love to visit, but I live in a really great town also – Merrickville, Ontario….if you want a beautiful village full of great artisans, come here
We go to ME every August. We stay in Wells since its pretty much central to everywhere. I love the outlets in Freeport best. We always get an awesome pic with the boot!

thanks for the award sis. I will post it soon.
@ Joe-ann

@ staciesmadness
thanks so much.
@ Meghann
Thanks for the info. I would love to visit Ontario also. I’m sure, in the years to come, we will find ourselves there, as my husband and I are both travel junkies.
@ Jennifer
how I wish we can go there every year too, that must be awesome. perhaps, when we reach retirement years which is way too far from now.
for now, we want to travel farther and see other places. we actually wish there’s more vacation time for my husband so we can keep seeing places.
@ Mrs4444
yes, hopefully our dream of having a vacation home there happens sooner than later. the place is just lovely.
For Merrickville: http://www.realmerrickville.ca/
It is about an hour south of Ottawa, the capital of Canada, so you get the best of both worlds – old country village with beautiful stone buildings and great art, yet close to a great city with every amenity. Merrickville is also on the Rideau Canal and has locks for boaters
Hey Tuks..medyo late ako ng konti today. It rained here today….the dirt road in front of was flooded…haha. Not really flood maybe a puddle…but it’s the first time I’ve seen it flooded like that. The man of the house was spared from his ‘watering’ duties….
TGIF na naman bukas…

the lobster make me hungry….hooho…can we to exchange link sis?
@ Meghann
I’ll keep the place in my list of must go to places. I love the fact that we get the best of both worlds and the central location. Thanks for the info.I really appreciate it.
Oh Maine is my all time favorite place too! Above all is Bar Harbor for us! We used to vacation every summer in July when we lived in NC. It is so beautiful and the weather is perfect in July (compared to the terrible heat in NC) There is so much to do. Now we live in NH, since 2005 and I love being so much closer.
