The first half of the year is almost over. Normally at this time, we would have been to our first vacation destination already, as we normally go away twice every year. The string of commercial airliner mishaps since the start of 2009 had put a damper on our travel plans. As I have mentioned on my other site, our first destination for this year would have been Dubai, UAE and Egypt with our friend L. She just came back from that trip and all we have are souvenirs for now.
I must admit, I’m really itching to go away. But just when I was already gung ho on making travel plans, again there’s the news of another mishap of a commercial airliner- Air France Flight 447.
Thus, for now, I’ll have to delight myself with previous vacation photos. I went “photo hunting” and of course, the first photos that I saw were from our 7 day- Spring(April 2008) getaway in Puerto Rico, and our Fall( September-October 2008) 3 1/2 weeks vacation in Italy: Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Venice, and Milan.

While checking-in at Westin Excelsior in Rome, I was very excited when I was handed this letter from the Prefecture of the Papal Household (Vatican). This was in response to my prior request ( I sent a letter 1 month before we set foot in Rome) to be granted tickets to see the Pope.

These are pretty cool photos! You had nice picks for a vacation. Hope you can travel soon at sana wala ng a(h1n1) among other things.hehehhehe

wow..great photos! hotel Ritz in Puerto Rico looks so interesting.how I wish I could visit the place someday. I have never seen yet Piazza San Marco at night. The glimpse of it at sunset is also eye catching, the reflecting light of the sun made it looks gold. That photo of yours looks fantastic as well.
Ay naku kakatakot nga lumipad after the AF tragedy. I know that flying is still the safest way to travel but when something like that happens, I can’t help but worry.
Panay ang dilig ng kabyutihan ko kasi sabi ni Mama nature panay daw reklamo ko nung umuulan….hahaha…
Hey…san kayo punta? Tsismoma ako no?

@ Rosilie
I fervently hope so. Otherwise, if the A (H1N1) continues(yes, I didn’t actually even think of that as one of the reasons) the year will go without any awesome vacation destination at all. Mas takot mamatay sa plane crash kesa sa swine flu LOL.
@ desperateblogger
you’re so funny.
on second thought, why not? we’re only two here. kaya lang, we’d rather prefer a child LOL. or a child at heart siguro pwede na rin hahaha.
@ joe-ann
thanks Joe-ann. you should visit PR sometime, and stay at the Ritz too. The hotel is really awesome.
@ Tuks
yes, mas takot kami lumipad kesa swine flu. the thought of dying on a plane crash is unfathomable. I’d rather die on a hospital bed.
ayan kasi, you used to wish the rain should go away.
we’re home. sad to say, I came down with a cold again. I seem to be getting it more frequently lately but it does not last long (2 days tops). but it’s not my cold that grounded us, it’s the rain. hopefully, it will clear tomorrow.
The photos are lovely, especially the sunset photo. Nakakatakot ngang bumiyahe ngayon, may swine flu na may mga airplane mishap pa. Have a great weekend!

@ Leomar
thanks. Oo nga,now we’re kind of scared. Dati we never really mind flying.
@ mabelle
I wish huminto na ang mga plane mishaps. mas takot nga kami sa crash kesa swine flu eh.
grabe ka iniinom mo ang vinegar? but I know some people really do that. invigorating nga naman kasi.
waaaaa…. i love the church.. its a dream of mine to go in Italy.. well I guess most architects do.. hehehehe…
@ baterya
you should really visit Italy sometime. the place is so rich of architectural details and history. I was really mesmerized!
