Ads Of The Day

It Pays To Be Vigilant

My laptop is not turned on and I’m not online till I’m done with my priorities for the day. That is a tall order! You normally catch me online late in the afternoon, and off as soon as my husband calls me to let me know that he is on his way home from work. That would signal me to head on to the kitchen and start cooking for dinner. I really don’t spend much time on the internet. If I can only  wake up at a normal time, maybe I can be online longer. For now, it has to be this way.

Dropping EntreCard is one fun task to me. It’s a leisurely, no brainer task. I get to read the blogs that interests me, and see different images that I would otherwise not see if I didn’t bloghop.  I enjoy doing it. Except …….

When I stumbled upon a site and my heart started to beat so fast. Suddenly,  I was reading a post that was mine, on someone else’s site. And yes, that is a paid post. A paid post that I wrote only a few hours back.

It’s plagiarism at it’s finest! I would not have been as furious if not for the fact that it was a paid opportunity and this person was going to earn out of what I have written. That is not fair.

That is the reason why the feeds of my three blogs are set to publish only a summary. There are a lot of scrapers out there and if they have to copy my posts, I might as well get the link and traffic.

This was what I was upset about as I have written here a few days ago.

You’ll never know what to expect from people. They can present themselves like they are angels but…

They say that imitation is a form of flattery, but no thanks, I’m not flattered.

To all of you peeps out here in the blogging world, beware… this copycat may have stolen one or two of your paid posts or interim posts already. This person’s site is loaded with content not originally written and are copied from various sources. Care to know who?

  • Palagarism at its worst. I think you should let EC know and kick him out of the program, doesn’t deserve a drop from all of us.

This is ‘stealing.’ Don’t the paid opportunity provider validates the entry? They should be able to verify the posts to see if they were copied posts.

BKs last blog post..The Last Lecture (Professor Randy Pausch)

  • lucky you, Juliana that you were able to catch them. maybe for my posts nobody will snag them because they are not written well…and really i dunno how to know that my post is being copied somewhere else.

Arlnes last blog post..Learned a New Thing & Some Freebies

  • I want to know who….kaso traffic din yun if we visit the blog. Hmmm…

    Kaso super curious ako….hehehe

Tukss last blog post..Great Week Ahead…

  • Hi Juliana! Who is this blogger? Other monetizing bloggers out there should be warned as well. Thanks

sashas last blog post..WS: Mount Samat

  • You should definitely report this to the company you work for! I get so mad about things like this!! Expose the criminal! I’d love to know who this is, stealing content. Plus, I want to make sure none of mine has been stolen.

Rebeccas last blog post..Please Don’t Get Your Mom a Boring Card and Flowers

  • OMG! That is just not right! Definitely not fair! I haven’t experienced anything like that yet (not so sure as I haven’t bloghopped a lot lately)…but if it happened to you, then I am surely not spared! Oh, I feel your frustration and anger on this tsk tsk…Anyway, can you whisper to me who it was? hehehe :)

  • Are there really people out there who could do such a nasty thing? I sure would like to know who it is.

Chays last blog post..A lesson learned!

  • yes, i wanna know. please do tell…

  • I had this exact same thing happen a while back. It really ticked me off because it was a paid opportunity. I complained to the company who was paying for the op, but they said there was nothing they could do! I’d be interested to know who copied your post.

  • oh….
    my….
    shocks!!!!
as in? hala, paano nalang si ako, di ko pa naman malalaman kung may kumopya na ba ng mga pinagsasabi ko. oh well, sana naman wala. di naman ganun kagaling pagkakasulat ko para kopyahin. :) but seriously, i really hoped i am not a victim. grabe naman ito. i want to know who this person is. i am soooo curious sis!

and oh… thanks for the vote and for the congratulatory remark. :)

recels last blog post..I Won, I Won!!! …and I Thank You All!!!

  • Interesting how someone could do that. I’d feel bad… herumph!

  • @ Rocks

the first 2 paragraphs are original, but the “meat” of the article which is the reason why the person is getting paid is my content.

  • @ Lynn

ikaw ha, trip mo malaman talaga?

  • @ Singapore Draws

thanks for your input. I’m waiting and see what the paid blogging company will do. as of now, the copied content from my site is still ‘live’ on that site.

  • @ BK

I don’t think they check the validity that way. they just check if the written post conform to their requirements. I already took the necessary actions and let the company know, and so far I got a positive response from them. they have verified the content and I was told that they will take the necessary actions to discipline this blogger.

  • @ Arlene

I don’t think it’s about a paid post written well. napag-tripan lang siguro ang paid post ko, dahil I’m not that good a writer din naman.

you can check for copied contents of your blog through: http://www.copyspace.com. try to key in search sa google using copyspace. for some reason kasi, the page does not come out if you type in the url sa browser.

  • @ Juliana

oo nga, lalo dadami traffic niya. but you maybe a regular visitor sa blog niya.

  • @ sasha

grabe kasi pinoy din siya. I didn’t want to write about it, but it’s really been bothering me.

  • @ Rebecca

thanks, I already did and I was told that Izea will take the necessary course of action.

  • @ a blessed life

oh yes, there are tons of them out there. it just so happened that I was lucky to catch this.

  • @ Chay

oh yes, definitely. And I’m afraid, you’ll be very disappointed because the person is on your blogroll.

  • @ maggie

I didn’t think many would be interested.

  • @ Lynne

you may as well check it out if you have an article too.

  • @ recel

aha, I’m afraid you will be very very disappointed once you know the identity. why? the person is on your blogroll. I will only tell you if you swear in to secrecy, and keep it under wraps for now.

I have only left one comment ever on the other person’s blog and that was for a really good reason. kaya akala niya di ko matuklasan. the problem was the person dropped an EC that day and di siguro alam that I author several sites, kasi the dropped EC card on this site was from the other blog of the copycat.

  • @ Monica

I did not only feel bad, I got angry.

  • I saw the post already. There are bits and pieces copied from your post. Good thing you saw it! A blogger friend of mine almost got suspended because some morons copied 3 of his posts, ante-dated it and used that for the same program.

sashas last blog post..WS: Mount Samat

  • You really must tell – is it a member of Entrecard? Remember what happened to the Monkey Blog? We all work too hard and if it was your blog today then it could be anyone else’s tomorrow. Juliana, name them and shame them. I really feel for you … if you feel that you cannot say who they are at present do you think that you could possibly please let me know their identity?

    I am appalled!

  • You SO should spill who it is. I would – and wouldn’t think twice about it. People who steal others content deserve what they get…let the chips fall where they may. I bet they don’t steal from anyone else again!

It’s so hard to get anything done about this stuff – the Internet is so new (in terms of laws, etc) that there aren’t strict laws on the books. And things get even more complicated when it’s in a creative realm – when someone steals your words, ideas, etc, it isn’t looked upon the same as when someone steals your television. Which stinks – because it’s just as wrong. As an artist, I have come across this issue many times.

You are much nicer than I am – I would have posted their name, blog name, and anything else I know about them…in big red letters at the top of my post. Then I would have put a picture of the EC drop sign with a big red circle with a slash through it (the “no” symbol). I definitely wouldn’t have been able to keep it to myself. So rid yourself of all this – spill who it is. You don’t need to protect them…they did this TO you – it’s too bad if they have consequences from their actions. You didn’t do anything wrong.

(Can you tell I’m getting angrier and angrier for you? lol)

    Katherines last blog post..Entrecard Creativity

  • @ sasha

the first two paragraphs are not mine but the rest of the post which is the “meat” (requirement for the opp) of the post, the paid article is my original article. there was no way the copied post could have been antedated because Izea validated the feeds of both blogs.

  • @ polly

yes, the blogger is, and I remember the monkey blog.thanks so much for your concern.

the first two paragraphs are not copied from my post but the rest of the entry which is the reason why the blogger is going to be paid is my original content.

  • @ Katherine

thanks so much for the concern. yes, I’m angry and I’m glad that the blogging company will take care of it.

  • too bad, this is the second post i read today ranting about plagiarism.somebody else from Entrecard got cheated like u.i abhor people who steal other people’s ideas even more than those people who steal material things.it’s your intellectual property we’re talking about and some dumb parasite just takes that away for his own credits? sorry but i’m really infuriated.something needs to be done before that plagiarist steals any more of your (or our) posts next time.grrrr!

Femmepowers last blog post..Top EC Droppers this April

  • hello sis!

just got to read ur email and i was really surprised! as in! i am a regular visitor of her blog and i do admire her writing skills not knowing, some of it are being copied lang. sigh. kinda disappointing na there are people like that no. she’s been a regular visitor of my blogs too and commented everyday but that was before – before she got the pr. na busy na siguro sa sobrang dami ng opps kaya di na nakapag comment.

i read both ur posts and she really copied it huh though meron din siyang nilagay na kanya talaga or maybe copied from somebody else’s din? hahaha. sama ko. well, we never know. hahay…very sad…

thank u for sharing it with me sis. don’t worry, won’t divulge that one. u can count on me. but can i blog about this? will not mention about her but will just link back on your post here, that is, if u don’t mind. hee hee. with your permission sis. :)

    take care!

Lynns last blog post..Hack The Hackers The High-Tech Way

  • @ femmepower

yes, it is really appalling that people do things like this. yes, they are dumb parasites indeed! they want to do it the easy way.

thanks for sharing your thoughts. btw, the person that copied my content is also on Entecard.

  • @ Lynn

kaya nga alangan ako sabihin sa yo coz baka nga you’re close. masira ko pa yun. the first two paragraphs lang ang kanya na ekek. but the meat of the opp requirement that needed to be included to get the approval ay akin yun. after the first 2 content ko na yung the rest.

  • @ Lynn

sige, you can write about it. oks lang.

  • Hi Tuks…musta ang Miyerkules dyan? Dito not good because the little chatterbox has the sniffles…and she hates taking liquid medicine eh yun lang ang available for her. Hopefully, she’ll start feeling better tomorrow….hay ang nanay nga naman….

Na email mo na ba ako tungkol sa copycat?

    Tukss last blog post..Odd Weather..

  • hi sis! OMG! as in ka-blogroll ko? sige na, i am soooo wanting to know who. i won’t publicize it at all. i just feel like i need to know so i’ll be warned about this impostor aka plagiarist. i don’t tolerate acts like this and i’ll wait for your revelation talaga. PLEASE do tell me.

recels last blog post..My Pre-Mother’s Day Special

  • @ Juliana

sure, check it out sa email account mo. if it’s not there let me know. send ko ulit.

  • @ recel

hey sis, I warned you ha. but since you insisted here is the link:

  • oh no! that is so bad to be earning out of someone’s post. sino ba yan?

  • @ kikamz

very bad nga talaga. you really want to know who? I’m afraid you’ll be in shock if you find out kung sino. the person is on your buddy list, I’m quite sure about it. baka you’re better off not knowing na lang hehe.

  • Hay naku you are right juls she is in my blogroll. It is so sad to know that there are people who would really stoop so low. Kababayan pa naman. I would have confronted her if it was me but then again she might take out that post without getting some sort of punishment. I feel for you girl.I hope this will not happen again.

  • hiya sis!
wala akong natanggap!!! traffic ba? i was rushing to my inbox when i read your last comment telling me that u emailed it na. kaso wala sa inbox ko eh. naputol tuloy excitement ko. LOL i’m sure i’ll be disappointed to know who this person is, if ever close na close ko. but still, i would definitely do my move kasi nga, i hate plagiarism din! please resend it. i need the name, the blog URL, and the post. :D i’ll wait. sige ka, you’ll make me a zombie tonight if i won’t get it. LOL

  • hello Juls, i hope this copy cat blogger is already punished by the company she worked for that paid post. i wish to know who this blogger as well so i can stop dropping on her site or better yet remove her from my blogroll if she/he happens to be in there :-) keep smiling!
