This is one store (the New York Cakes and Baking Supply store) where I will never leave its premises without a shopping bag. I can actually spend hours in here, and I can stay here all day if I have no other tasks to attend to.

Ever since I forayed into baking, there is no trek to Manhattan that I don’t find myself in this baking supplies store. As soon as I get in, I get lost in the sea of baking ‘what-nots,’ I can’t even begin to imagine stuffing my kitchen cupboards and pantry with every single piece of merchandise that they sell. For a novice but ambitious baker like me, I won’t mind buying every single merchandise that they sell if I have unlimited storage space in my kitchen. To tell you the truth, a lot of the baking supplies and tools are ‘alien’ to me, that I often find myself inquiring from their sales staff what they are intended for.
Given that scenario all the time, my husband has been suggesting that I should look into taking baking and decorating classes. The only problem is, I’m not sure if I want to commit myself into a set schedule. As it is, I’m having fun learning and experimenting on my own, so why should I spoil the fun? It’s better like this because I’m not under any pressure. I just want to learn baking for sheer enjoyment. When and if I change my mind and I’m ready to take baking seriously, then that is another story. Let’s see where this will take me.
