This dish pretty much summed up what I felt after getting another clean bill of health from my doctors. I’m exploding with joy! Hence, after my appointment with the third doctor this week, I went to the nearby Asian supermarket to buy a couple of freshly caught (from the fish tank LOL) tilapia. I have been craving for pinaputok na tilapia for the past few days. Why is this dish named as such? I have no idea.

It’s a very simple dish, no special ingredients needed. I would have wanted to have banana leaves, though, as this dish calls for banana leaves to be used for wrapping the fish, but I can’t source it here, thus, foil was used as substitute. Some people throw this on a grill, some deep fry it but I baked it in the oven. Delicious!

Hi Sis,

hindi lang big deal sis, mahal pa. say for instance if you want to make pinakbet here, be ready to shell out $13 just for the veggies, wala pang pork yan ha if you want your pinakbet with pork slices.
standby na lang for my creation this week. I baked again as usual, and will post it on my world blog.
enjoy the weekend!

I guess you must have come across this dish while on vacation in the Philippines or somewhere else? Glad you liked it.
Thanks for dropping by.
Hay naku. I wish merong Asian market here na nagtitinda ng fresh tilapia. Puro frozen and I don’t want to ‘ruin’ my good memories of that dish by using frozen fish instead of fresh.
Ay naku lahat ata tayo puro duktor ang hinarap this week. Not fun at all.
Enjoy the weekend Tuks….
