If you happen to browse my other site, you must know by now, that I have been deeply in love with baking for the past few weeks. Although, I get to bake only once a week, I find this to be therapeutic and I can’t help but squeeze the much needed creative juice in decorating my baked goods. As a novice baker, I’m very interested to learn and acquire all the needed skills to help me become a better baker.
Thus, when I heard about the first annual Great American Pie Show sponsored by the Taste Of Home magazine to be held in Branson, Missouri at the Branson Convention Center, I wanted to know more about the event. Al Roker, the famous anchor of the Today Show will host the event which will be held on April 24 – 25, 2009.
Not that I have an original pie recipe to bring with me that will enable me to enter this Great American Pie Contest, but I would be really thrilled to see a competition like this offhand. I must say that the prizes are enticing. Who wouldn’t want to win that $2,500 cash prize and the trip for two to Branson? Thus, if you have that favorite family pie recipe, you might want to think about joining.
While I watch the pie show, my husband can have his own sporting events to attend to if we ever take the trek. As it is, Branson has the NAIA college basketball championship as well as the FLW bass tournament. That makes Branson a one stop vacation destination because the place has something to offer to everyone. Theme parks, theaters, museums, lakes, golf courses as well as shopping is right within the vicinity. If we ever go for a week, I know that it will be a blast. Do I need to really say more, wherein fact, you have been reading here on my site about my intention of wanting to set foot in Branson?
Lastly, the best thing that anyone should note is the fact that, at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel, a block of rooms, at special room rates have been reserved for April 20- 29, 2009. TheĀ special room rates will be available until March 22nd or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first, and it is specially catered to those going to the Great American Pie Show. There’s not much time left, check it out… quick!
