Still An Alien

How long does it take for you to get acquainted and get used to a new gadget? With so many newfangled features and what nots that come with electronic gadgets nowadays, it has become more of a chore for me to get myself used to and learn how to use the features of anything new in my world.

Take for instance the new cell phone unit that we (husband and me) got a couple of months ago. The cell phone is loaded with tons of features that I don’t even use, yet, they happen to be functioning, and in operation simply because we got the units. Isn’t that stupid of us to opt for a unit like this? I was dragged into getting an identical unit because my husband fell in love with it, and to  erase his guilt somehow(LOL), he convinced me to get the same unit even if it was clear that it is going to be useless.

I barely use the cell phone, and it’s off most of the time. Why? Because I’m home and I get lucky if I even get to step out twice a week. Thus, as of this writing, I only know how to send and receive calls, turn the power on and off and charge the battery, while we are paying for the basic service as well as all the other optional services because the phone has all those features.

I don’t have the luxury of time tweaking this LG Dare cell phone. I may be a stay at home wife, and although, I’m stuck here in the house, I have my hands full with a lot of other more important things to accomplish.  Will I ever get to learn to use all the features? Only time will tell. In the meantime, my husband loves his, and even changes his ring tones very often.
