With the temps here in New York still stuck in the 40′s, I have been all the more anxious to hie off to some serene place like this image you’ll see below.
Where is this place? It’s in Maine, one of the few places I really love so much here in the US. Aside from their awesome seafoods (love, love the abundance of lobster!), I also love that heavenly ice cream from Beal’s. Oh, and did I mention that it is very peaceful too? We did not encounter any crazy driver on the roads when we were there for vacation in 2006, they always yield to pedestrian, a big departure from a lot of drivers here in New York.
Maine indeed remains in my heart. That’s why, even if we have been to a lot of places already, Maine is still our top choice where we want to acquire a vacation home. Bermuda is a good second, and we contemplated on Florida too: the West Palm Beach and Tampa area, but Maine rules. Now, the only question left is: when will that purchase come to fruition?

I just LOVE Maine! It is amazing. My husband and I took a road trip there in September of 2005 and traveled the entire coast all the way to Lubec and back. We camped and stayed in a hotel on the ocean. We went whale watching and at at the water’s edge. I never wanted to come home. We took the three youngest there the following September. It was amazing. We rustic camped at Cobscook Bay Sate Park and watched the tide roll in and out, and I saw my first eagle in flight ever. I was SO excited! I could smell the ocean in my nose for a week after we were home. Every-so-often I just yearn to go back. That would be my ultimate retirement!

ay naku, ako din. in the meantime, we are stuck dito sa harap ng dagat yun nga lang dito sa New York. yung Maine eh hanggang pangarap na muna. will grab the award soon sis. wait ka lang ha.
We haven’t been to Maine yet, but we would love to visit there in the near future. Husband keeps telling me it’s beautiful there and that’s one of the places he wants to take me with. I’ve seen Maine though Food Network ( Barefoot Contessa ) and I’m impressed…
