Noblesse Oblige

Wiki says, Noblesse Oblige literally means nobility obligates. The French Wiktionary says:
1.Whoever claims to be noble must conduct himself nobly. and
2. (Figuratively) One must act in a fashion that conforms with one’s position, and with the reputation that one has earned.

“Noblesse oblige” is generally used to imply that with wealth, power and prestige come responsibilities. The phrase is sometimes used derisively, in the sense of condescending or hypocritical social responsibility. In American English especially, the term has also been applied more broadly to those who are capable of simple acts to help another, usually one who is less fortunate.

Now, I wonder if I fit in to the description because Lynn has given me this award.  But whatever it is, I’m accepting it graciously and as always thank you Lynn! Please know that you are greatly appreciated. I hope I really fit in to the requirements that makes me deserving of this award. As you know, this blog is created to document our adventures as married couple in the Big Apple. Whatever this blog achieved so far is solely dependent on my readers point of view.

I write to inspire primarily, and two of the posts I have written as inspiring so far are:  this post, and this post, I believe. Other than that, again, I leave it for my dear readers to note.

1. The Blogger manifests exemplary attitude, respecting the nuances that pervades amongst different cultures and beliefs.
2. The Blog contents inspire; strives to encourage and offers solutions.
3. There is a clear purpose at the Blog; one that fosters a better understanding on Social, Political, Economic, the Arts, Culture and Sciences and Beliefs.
4. The Blog is refreshing and creative.
5. The Blogger promotes friendship and positive thinking.

The Blogger who receives this award will need to perform the following steps:

1. Create a Post with a mention and link to the person who presented the Noblesse Oblige Award.
2. The Award Conditions must be displayed at the Post.
3. Write a short article about what the Blog has thus far achieved – preferably citing one or more older Post to support.
4. The Blogger must present the Noblesse Oblige Award in concurrence with the Award conditions.

5. The Blogger must display the Award at any location at the Blog.

Again, thank you Lynn. I’m now off to check out Christian books and videos that I will soon be purchasing to give as a gift to a friend.
