Many months ago, I have written about our decision to sponsor and send a college freshman (Computer Engineering program) to De La Salle University in Taft, Manila. He started last May and is now on the second term. As you know, they have three terms every school year in that university.
On the pile of mail that accumulated while we were in Italy was an envelope containing these:
A card, and the grades from the first term. My husband and I are very pleased with his performance and with his commitment and dedication, we know he will make it. More than the grades, the one thing that melted me to pieces was the card of gratitude from the kid. Tears rolled down as I was reading the front of the card, and all the more I choked up when I flipped to read the handwritten message inside and the additional text from the pre-printed card.

We may not have the chance forever to send our own kid to school(if that is His will), but my husband and I are now at least experiencing the joys of sending someone to school, and feel the kind of fulfillment that parents experience. Above all, we feel good to be able to share our blessings and help someone fulfill their dream. Now, my husband says having one more child to sponsor would double the joy, a priceless investment.

You are changing this person’s life for the better and I’m sure he’ll forever be grateful for that. What wonderful thing you’re doing.
Our Tuesday is not so good kasi may sniffles ang little one. It’s on the beginning stages so medyo yucky ang pakiramdam nya. She’s not being whiny though but I don’t like seeing her like that…hay.
How’s your Tuesday?

What a wonderful thing you and your husband are doing. I was so touched by both your post and your generosity. The world is made a better place when people do things like what you are doing. I truly believe in paying it forward and I am sure that not only your sponsored student will benefit from this but many other people he comes in contact with will benefit as well. Good for you!

This is so wonderful
You and your husband are so generous to do this. Bless you for this wonderful kindness.
You are God-sent. There are lots of people who have the resources and the opportunity to help less fortunate people but they never give a damn. But you and your Hubby are more blessed than that kid you help because you found in your heart to give back what God has given you. Let’s pray that the Kid will PAY FORWARD the blessings the he received from God through your kind hearts.

yes, it is indeed costly to send someone in DLSU. But we figure, this is one chance to be able to share our blessings, and what better way than sending someone in one of the best schools we have there.
thanks Calvin!
That’s such a beautiful thing to do! You’re providing him with the gift to help himself and so he will probably be inspired to help others the way you’ve helped him when he’s finished with school… it’ll be a chain reaction of incredibly good deeds

You & your hubby are people with big heart who genuinely care for others.
Though you weren’t bless with your own child yet, still you continue to represent God’s kindness to other people.
I wish the person you sponsored success in his/her studies.
God bless you more:)
What a wonderful act of selflessness by you and your husband, to give a complete stranger the gift of education. This is awesome to prevent even one child from having to rack up and then pay down student loan bills. A huge burden has been lifted from his and his parents’ shoulders (I know because I graduated with student loans. You are truly an angel and you will be blessed for your generosity.
