Citi, Wachovia And Wells Fargo: What A Mess

Yes, we are on vacation alright, but my husband can’t take his eyes off the news on what’s going on at Wall Street. Now, he is fixated about the latest development re: Wachovia pulling out of the deal with Citigroup. Apparently, Wells Fargo offered them more money to buy their banking operations.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when he told me and I qoute: “I’m sick to my stomach right now.” And this was all because of the deal falling apart. Can you believe this guy?  I couldn’t say anything, and I just tried to control myself from lashing out.

We’re supposed to be on vacation, but he can’t just drop everything. You know what I did? I went out of the room, laptop in tow, headed to the lobby of the hotel and surfed the net until I stumbled upon the portable oxygen concentrator that I was trying to price.

Tonight, the husband is in a better mood. Why? As per reports, a Judge issued emergency orders preserving exclusivity agreement between Wachovia and Citi. We’ll see where this saga goes.

I just hope this won’t drag too long, because I can have my hands full in trying to enforce “discipline” on a man on vacation LOL.

      Hi Juliana,

I can understand how both you and your hubbie feel. The same thing happened to me many years ago - same thing, on a family annual vacation to Phuket-Bangkok. I sat at the Airport lounge totally oblivious to what was happening with my wife and kids. LOL!

My wife stood up, and sternly told me that if I can’t switch off my mind on my Office commitments, then the family goes right back home!

But in all fairness, this devastating financial issue has so much ramifications no matter what solutions are applied to contain the problem. Your hubbie can understandably be quickened by what is happening by the hour.

Give him a gentle back massage to help ease his mental tensions. :)

it certainly is bad. before it gets better, it’s just getting worse by the day. I can’t stop my husband from being upset. it’s been like this for almost two weeks already. as soon as we’re back in the hotel, internet is turned on and the TV simultaneously. guess, I’ll just have to take it with a grain of salt.not even a massage would ease the tension right now.
