Relaxed And Secured

That is exactly how we feel about retirement. Hats off to my husband, as he is a very knowledgeable money manager. His being an Analyst for one of the biggest Wall Street firms has made him to be the man he is today when it comes to securing a relaxed and secured future. I, on the other hand has always been the more conservative part of the pair. I have always been like that when it comes to investments and money. Needless to say, when I took the quiz at bills.com to check my Bills IQ, I came out running away with a score of 100% A. The result indicated 100% on all the different aspects of the quiz such as: Credit, Debt, Life Plan and Budget except for the Wealth portion which came out at 97%.

There is not much more that we intend to do but cruise along and keep up with the course of the diversified portfolio that we have until my husband thinks we have reached a very comfortable level to warrant retirement, which is definitely way ahead of his retirement age unless the calculations and projections we’ve made are sidetracked significantly. In fact, if you ask me about any other concrete future retirement plans, there’s none that I can say except what has been originally set in stone already.

As we cruise through this life, there’s one mantra that has been a guiding path for me and my husband: DON’T LIVE BEYOND YOUR MEANS. Purchases big and small are only made if the money is there, vacations are only to be taken if the money is there. What I mean by that is the money is physically available to be disburse for the purchase or expenditure. I’m saying this because a lot of people have no recourse but get into debt consolidation when they have already got in over their head with debts. For some reason, a lot of us have the habit of spending by swiping that credit card and think about how to pay for it later on. That is being irresponsible. Yes, we all use credit cards, because it is convenient. I for one use a credit card that is dutifully paid off with every statement. We have to keep in mind that credit is a privilege that is meant to be used responsibly.
