Walk For A Cause, Will You Join Me?

I certainly don’t mean walking just to lose weight. But it can also be for that reason. So why not join the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk and walk for a greater reason other than to be healthy and shed off some extra pounds!

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are walks in more than 600 communities. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall. By teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Association, you can walk with a purpose – and move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Together, we can MOVE a nation.

Yes, I myself started my walking regimen a month ago, and I have been consistently doing 1 mile. It feels good to be fit and trim, and it certainly would be a better feeling being a part of a group walking for a very noble cause. The 2 mile walk is not hard to accomplish as I plan to increase my pace and walk longer. I certainly have done enough of my 1 mile walk already and it’s about time to up the ante and go farther. This will enable me to get primed up and join the Memory Walk 2008 at the Riverside Park here in New York City on October 26, 2008.

The fight against Alzheimer’s is everyone’s business. We are the next generation, and let’s make it our responsibility to become champions in the fight against this disease. Help me raise awareness and funds for this very worthy cause. Let us walk together and move closer to the realization of a big goal: a world free from Alzheimer’s.
