It’s inevitable! The first night of the work week will be another late night for me again in the kitchen. Look at the time stamp on this post, my husband just called to tell me he’s leaving the office.
Nights like this, I just feel exhausted, even if I even haven’t started cooking yet. My husband’s routine all the more make it later for me, because he wants to shower first before dinner. But, what can I do? Bad habits/routines are hard to break. I have tried a couple of timesĀ to get him to have dinner first, and it’s not good. It’s as good as I have no dining companion because he is so in a hurry to finish up, so he can shower. Do you believe that?

I feel for you… Most nights I don’t mind waiting for hubby to come home so we could have dinner together but lately (since my parents and a couple of siblings moved in with us temporarily) I get hungry earlier than usual because by the time I get home from work, my Dad or my Mom has cooked dinner already and the smell of the food is sending signals to my brain that makes me want to sit down and eat dinner with them (they eat early – around 7pm – and go to bed at around 8pm) instead of waiting for hubby to come home at around 8pm pa. Hay… but I can’t do that naman because if he doesn’t have me to eat with him, he’s not going to eat na din.

ok na lang din, no choice di ba?
That’s married life in the big city. You have to adjust right? I’m glad that my hubby’s work schedule is daytime from 7-4 so he arrives when the sun is still up high.

oo nga. that’s just the way it is working in a highly pressurized environment like Wall Street.
it’s okay waiting as long as you have your hubby to share the dinner with. unlike me, my hubby is working abroad, good thing though, it is easy for me to limit my food intake, but eating with hubby, he’s appetite is contagious.
