Hanukkah

Tonight started the week long (9 days to be precise) Hanukkah celebration of the Jewish religion. My husband is a non practicing Jew himself, so it really is just an ordinary week for us.

Hanukkah is festival of lights, sort of like equivalent to  Christmas but of course celebrated differently. The menorah, which is the symbol of the whole celebration is equivalent to the Christmas tree. It’s a festive celebration wherein Jewish families get together every night of the 9 days where kids play the dreidel and get their presents(1 for every night).

How exciting it must be to be a recipient of all those presents!
