Stocks and the Stock Market

As you all know by now, hubby works for a Wall Street firm. Thus, it is not much of a question why he loves to drop some of our money on stocks. Yeah, you heard it right. With the recent instability of the stock market as it is flip-flopping everyday, the husband is dutifully buying stocks even without me knowing. I’m only made aware of his “purchases” once I get the statement of our financially managed account. And get this, that statement is sent out once a month, so there’s not much I can do about it.

I should trust his buying instincts, but for some reason, I don’t think like him. As is, we are not that happy with how our long time stocks and investments are doing, but as my husband always says, you count it as losing if you are disposing them now, but if you’re keeping them as investments long term, it is highly likely that the value will bounce back.

Oh well, he’s proven himself once already back when the market went down after 9/11. Every single investments we had went down, but they’ve recovered after a couple of years. It might just work the same way. So his buying activities are not that bad after all, because he’s buying shares now that the prices are lower. Whatever…
